Busboys and Poets is my election day headquarters.  There are cool Obama pictures on the walls, fun music, free internet (now that it’s working again–yay!) and free diet coke refills.  Very nice.

Also, there was a guy set up outside the door yesterday selling Obama pins. I need to get one before the party really gets started tonight (to go with my “I voted” sticker!).  The folks here (and in all of DC, really) have been waiting for this day since November of 2000.  I will not be surprised if you can hear tonight’s celebration as far away as “real” Virginia.

(a) Cosi now offers a whole grain version of its famous bread.  I took twice as many “samples” at lunch because now it’s good for me!

(b) The sort of thing I love about this town:  Small crowds gravitate towards sidewalk windows with TVs inside, for the free CNN.  (Mmm, news…)

(c) I am surrounded by men in boring suits, but they’re all wearing ties.  I’d forgotten how awesome that is.

(d) The Obama folks are apparently arranging a massive party along U St. tomorrow night, with a different Obama-esque theme in each bar.  I am definitely in the right place for this election.
